Pine Kernels 65g
Pine kernels are small, oblong, white seeds that sit in the very large cones of pine trees. The cones are heated to release the kernels, which are encased in a hard shell that is hard to remove. Hence the often high price per kilogram.
Since pine kernels come from conifers, they have a slight resiny yet sweet taste, making them ideal for salads, pasta dishes and homemade pesto. If they are roasted briefly on a hot, dry pan, their flavour is enhanced.
