Organic Linseeds 350g

Linseeds come from the flax plant, which is grown to produce linen. 

Linseeds have a high content of healthy polyunsaturated fats and are rich in dietary fibre, i.e. 28 g of fibre per 100g of seeds. Linseeds also “bind” fat, which means that the body does not absorb all the fat and energy from food containing them. This property also has a positive effect on blood cholesterol. As linseed oil naturally contains cadmium, the Danish Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, Danish Veterinary and Food Administration recommends that linseed is not eaten to excess. There is, however, evidence that fewer toxins are released when the seeds are eaten whole, so cooking – i.e. baking – reduces the toxins. If linseeds are to be used for baking, the recommended amount is 6g linseeds per 100g bread.
