Grilled potatoes with pickled red onions

  1. Turn on the grill
  2. Wash and scrub the potatoes well
  3. Place them in a pot with plenty of water. Salt the water well.
  4. Let them boil for about 5 minutes - then remove the pan from the heat. Leave to soak in the water for a further 30 minutes.
  5. Now drain the water and let them cool slightly.
  6. Place the potatoes on a cutting board and press them lightly with a plate, lid or other flat surface, they must not fall apart, but should only crack slightly.
  7. Drizzle a generous amount of olive oil over the potatoes and leave them to soak up the oil.
  8. Place the potatoes on the grill and grill until golden on both sides.


  1. Toss the potatoes with half of the pickled red onions, salt and a little creamy béarnaise sauce.
  2. Top with more creamy béarnaise sauce, the last red onions and lots of cress.
