Ingredients

  • Donuts:
  • 400 g wheat flour
  • 60 g sugar
  • 7 g dry yeast or 50 g fresh yeast
  • 2 dl oat milk
  • 75 g butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. cardamom
  • 0,5 tsp. cloves
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Oil for frying
  • Topping:
  • Svansø Cane sugar
  • Svansø Hazelnut flakes

Preparation

1. Heat the milk in the microwave and dissolve the yeast in it.

2. Leave for 10 minutes until small bubbles form on the surface.

3. Meanwhile, mix all the dry ingredients for the doughnuts in a large bowl.

4. Melt the butter and add it together with the yeast-milk. Use your fingers to bring the dough together and knead it with your hands for 5-8 minutes.

5. Shape the dough into a ball and leave to rise in a warm place for an hour.

6. When the dough has risen, roll it out with a rolling pin until it is about 1.5 cm thick.

7. Use a cookie cutter, glass or other tool to cut out the doughnuts.

8. Place them on a baking sheet or tray and leave to rise for 30-45 minutes.

9. Now heat a pan with a good amount of oil and fry the doughnuts for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and attractive. Immediately dip them in either the hazelnut flakes or the cane sugar.

Serve the same day.
