Caramelized red onions with balsamic

1. Heat the oil in a deep pan

2. Slice the red onions and fry them in the oil for 3-4 minutes to soften them.

3. Sprinkle with cane sugar and add balsamic vinegar

4. Simmer the onions for 10-15 minutes, stirring regularly.

5. Add salt and pepper and stir well.

6. Serve caramelised red onions as an accompaniment to meat or vegetable dishes, or as a filling for burgers or sandwiches.
