Walnut cake with roasted figs

Ingredients

Preparation

1. Turn on the oven to 180°C convection.

2. Beat the sugar and butter together with an electric whisk for about 2-3 minutes until fluffy.

3. Beat in one egg at a time, then sift in the baking powder, wheat flour and salt.

4. Mix the dough well.

5. Add the whole walnuts and stir them into the dough.

6. Cut the figs into small cubes and add them to the dough.

7. Pour the batter into a greased springform pan and bake for about 30-35 minutes. Check the cake with a meat pin or fork to see if it is baked through.

8. Let the cake cool and turn it out onto a plate.

9. Sprinkle with icing sugar just before serving and serve with Greek yoghurt or full-fat sour cream.
